Arm Lift
Brachioplasty, or arm lift surgery, can help you look better by improving the appearance of your upper arms. It’s a procedure that uses tightening to improve the appearance of sagging skin and supportive tissue. Surgeons can also remove pockets of fat from your arms, making them look more sculpted.
This procedure helps improve tone and definition in your upper arms by reducing pockets of fat, removing excess skin, tightening supportive tissue, and smoothing over remaining skin.
The surgeons at BariClinic have been recognized for performing Arm Lift. They offer a variety of services with safe and effective techniques,, including the Arm Lift, and their decades of experience are reflected in their work.
If you’re thinking about undergoing Arm Lift, our experienced Dr. Giedrius Stankevičius can help you.
Arm Lift Procedure
First of all, during our initial consultation, we talk with patients about their health and what they hope to achieve. After we evaluate the elasticity of your arm, the location and amount of excess skin, and the amount of fatty tissue to be removed, we will proceed with the surgery. We also customize the type of arm lift to fit your body and lifestyle.
Arm lifts take around 1.5 to 2.5 hours on average, and patients are usually discharged from the hospital the same day.
You will receive medication to make you comfortable and this may include general anesthesia, which puts you to sleep, blocking sensation.
Surgeons make an incision on the inside or back of your arm. The size of the incision depends on how much tissue is removed during surgery.
Your surgeons will remove excess skin, fat and other tissue by cutting it away and sometimes with liposuction. They use stitches (sutures) to tighten supportive tissue.
After the procedure, surgeons close the incision with sutures. They also wrap your arm with sterile gauze to help stop the spread of infection.
Arm Lift Post Op
You may notice a trimmer appearance in your upper arm. Many people experience a boost in confidence from wearing sleeveless shirts, form-fitting tops, and swimsuits.
After your procedure, bandages protect the incision while it heals. You wear a snug-fitting sleeve (compression garment) to minimize swelling. There may be tiny tubes under your skin to drain excess fluid.
Arm lift recovery also includes:
- Getting plenty of rest and keeping a healthy diet will help you feel better.
- Staying away from strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for a period of time to heal.
- Changing bandages and elevating pillows to the appropriate level as necessary.
- For several weeks, you can wear compression garments.
Arm Lift Recovery
Arm lift recovery time usually takes between 1 and 2 weeks.
If you’re ready to get back to your normal activities quickly, make sure you follow your doctor’s advice and rest as much as possible.
Avoid heavy lifting or carrying anything over your head until you feel completely recovered.
