Breast Augmentation With Implants

Breast augmentation surgery  is performed when patient wants to improve shape and  size of the breast. Also breast implants can be used to restore a breast after a mastectomy.

The size and shape of the implant is selected taking into account the patient’s wishes and anatomy.

If you’re thinking about undergoing Breast Augmentation With Implants, our experienced surgeon Dr. Karolis Černauskis can help you.

Round-shaped breast implants

These implants are an ideal choice for women with firm, good- and round-shaped natural breasts wishing a simple breast enlargement and push up effect.

Teardrop (anatomical) implants

Teardrop Implants are an ideal choice for women who wants more natural looking results. These implants are a good option for patients wishing less fullness in the upper part of the breast.

Breast implant procedure

Breast augmentation surgery is done under general anesthesia and takes about 2 hours.

The implant is placed in a lodge formed in the breast tissues, which can be above the muscle, under the breast gland, under the muscle fascia.

The surgery is finished by putting the implant to lodge and remove any remaining tissue fluids. Wound stitched and put on a special bra.

Breast implant Post op and recovery

Breasts remain swollen for about 2-3 weeks after the surgery. Some pain can be experienced for a few days.

Bandages over the surgical sites should be changed every 2–3 days.

In several weeks swelling disappears and implants adapt to the body and lay in the natural position.

After the breast enlargement surgery patients are required to wear a special bra for 2 months, 24 hours per day.

They are also advised to avoid sports or any other intensive physical activities for at least 2-3 months after the surgery.

The patient can return to work within a few days if  occupation does not require strenuous movements and arm raising.

On average, a full recovery period usually takes about four to six weeks. It’s important to refrain from physical activity, lifting heavy objects and overworking yourself during this sensitive time.
