Upper back lift
An upper back lift is a treatment that can improve the shape of your upper back. The back lift removes excess skin and underlying fat, helping you achieve a tighter, more toned look.
The upper back lift addresses skin that may collect in the mid to upper back, causing folds or fat. Upper back lift surgery is often performed in conjunction with breast or upper (reverse) abdominoplasty.
The result of the surgery is a scar that falls within the bra line. For upper back lift results, an extended arm lift can be used, which removes tissue along the side of the chest and reduces excess skin in the upper back.
Men and women who are in good physical and psychological health are good candidates for a back lift.A back lift is appropriate for patients who have undergone significant weight loss and for individuals who suffer from loss of skin elasticity due to age, pregnancy, or simply being overweight.

Upper back lift Procedure
During the initial consultation, you will talk with surgeon about your needs and expectations so surgeons can begin working to achieve the desired results.
A back lift can be combined with other procedures, such as abdominoplasty, liposuction, thigh lifts or breast surgery to rejuvenate the entire physique.
During the procedure, the surgeon will remove the damaged or diseased vertebral bone and replace it with a metal cage. This allows the patient to regain mobility and flexibility while reducing pressure on the nerves and blood vessels.
A bra line back lift is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made across the target area giving access to the excess skin and tissue.
If needed or desired, liposuction will be utilized during surgery to remove any fatty bulges. By combining liposuction with a back lift, it helps to improve the final shape and contour.
Finally, excess skin will be excised with the remaining skin being pulled taut to smooth out the region.
The incision will be sutured shut with special care that any scars will be hidden beneath the bra or bathing suit.
Upper back lift Post Op
Upper back lift surgery is performed on an outpatient basis. Patients will have some discomfort, but typically this procedure is not overly painful. Patients can shower the following day.
Compression garments can be used to help reshape your new torso following surgery, and you should avoid strenuous exercise for several weeks.
The results will be dramatic as the upper back is contoured allowing patients to wear a bra.
When the daily fluid output has decreased to acceptable levels, drain tubes are usually removed.
Upper back lift Recovery
Patients usually recover within two weeks after undergoing the procedure. However, some patients may require additional treatment such as physical therapy.
It is recommended that you take at least two weeks off from work depending on the level of activity your job requires. Light exercise can typically be resumed in two to three weeks, with full activities back at work by four to six weeks.
